Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences' cooperation within the FINNIPS network makes it possible to arrange the UAS entrance examinations around the world!

Entrance Examinations around the World

After applying for admission according to the set procedures of the joint application (during the January application period), all eligible applicants will be invited to take part in entrance examinations. The entrance examination can be taken either in Finland or outside Finland in one of the countries where FINNIPS organises them. The exam country can be chosen in the application form. Please note that if you are planning to take the exam outside your own country of residence, you should check whether you need a visa to enter the exam country and whether visas are granted for exam purposes.

In spring 2020 the network arranged the entrance examinations in several countries outside Finland. The exams took place between 10 and 15 March 2020. Please note that changes may occur.

*The coronavirus outbreak has caused some travel restrictions, including quarantines, in several countries. Due to these unforeseeable restrictions imposed by the different authorities and airlines, it is not possible to arrange the FINNIPS network’s entrance examinations in China (Shanghai and Wuhan), South Korea (Seoul) and Vietnam (Hanoi) as planned. We apologise for any inconvenience in this unexpected situation. The applicants that have chosen China or South Korea as their exam country in the application form, or those pre-registered for the exam in Hanoi, Vietnam, have be contacted by the UASs and informed about the cancellation. See below for further information about the FINNIPS exams 2020.

Co-operating Degree Programmes

According to the principles of the joint application system, applicant who has applied to 1-6 degree programmes that are included in the same field of study and accept each other's results will be invited to only one entrance examination. The result of the examination will then be accepted in all the co-operating degree programmes that the applicant has applied to. This means that in some study fields you can apply up to six different UASs/programmes by taking just one entrance exam!

Click below to download a list of the co-operating degree programmes in the January 2020 application period. The names of the exams indicate which programmes co-operate and use the same exam. In 2020, there are joint exams in the fields of Business and Administration 1, Health Care, Seafaring, Technology and Tourism.

Please note that in the other study fields (and in all Master's degree programmes) the programmes have their own exam and/or an alternative selection method. At the bottom of the page you can read further information about the content and stuctures of the different exams and/or their alternative selection methods.

Information on the Entrance Examinations

Below you can check information about the entrance examinations or other selection methods (e.g. pre-task, e-interview) used by the different degree programmes. Please note that the exam information will be completed gradually and changes may occur.

Some of the entrance exams include pre-reading material, which needs to be studied before the exams. The pre-reading material will be published on this website and it will be available also on the UASs/degree programmes own websites. In addition, all the eligible applicants will receive additional information about the exam structure in the invitation letter in February-March 2020.

Important information about the FINNIPS entrance examinations in 2020

The FINNIPS network arranged entrance examinations for 10 Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences’ English-taught degree programmes in 10 countries around the world between 10 and 15 March. The examinations were checked in the network’s UASs and the results of student selection based on these exams were announced from 21 April onwards (and by 5 June 2020, at the latest).

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and its effects, the entrance examinations had to be cancelled in China, South Korea and Hanoi in Vietnam. The applicants who had chosen China or South Korea as their exam location or pre-registered for the exam in Hanoi, have been contacted by the UASs that invited them to the exams. Further information about the alternative selection methods offered to applicants in these countries/cities were provided by the network’s UASs. Please note that due to these special circumstances, changes e.g. regarding the schedules may occur. We will keep you updated according to our best ability.

Results of Student Selection
